This week was active school week in our school. Each day there were different activities planned for each class to take part in to keep active. The children absolutely loved trying all the different activities but were exhausted after a very active week!
As part of Active school week, 5th class had a trip down to the Outdoor gym along the Murrough.
6th class were very fortunate to have Cathy from the Irish tug of war association to come in and teach them how to properly compete in a Tug of war competition. They had lots of fun and very much enjoyed the competition.
2nd class were very fortunate to have a South African dad come in and teach them cricket during active school week.
1st class had lots of fun playing parachute games for active school week.
Junior & Senior infants had lots of fun trying to navigate their way through the obstacle course that 6th class had designed for them during active school week.
We ran a competition to design a logo for our committee’s active school Badge. Here is the lucky winner from 5th class with her winning badge. Well done.
The school competed in a 3km cross country event in Avondale on Tuesday where 5th & 6th class took part, one of the boys even won 2nd place in his race. It is a fantastic achievement for all who took part to be able to run 3km.
