The boys and girls of the Glebe NS were very privileged today as they received a visit from the Irish defence forces, who spoke to them all about the origins of the Irish flag, the 1916 rising and the work of the defence forces, before presenting them with their very own copy of the Irish proclamation and their own Irish tricolour flag. The oldest and youngest pupil of the school took part in the ceremony by reading a section of the proclamation and also receiving the Irish flag. All the pupils were excellently behaved and very interested, asking lots of really good questions afterwards. Well done to all involved.
